I'm a little miffed because I just wrote half of my post and for some reason it disappeared and it hadn't saved itself. What's with that?
This month has been pretty busy for us. Besides trying to get our new house organized, we took a nice trip to Utah for my brother's wedding. It was great to meet Laura and to see her and Jacob get married. My family rented a house in Salt Lake so we could all have meals together and spend more time together. My grandparents also stayed there, which was great because I haven't seen them in a long time. They are still so funny and I loved getting to spend time with them.
My mom was in a bad car accident while we were there and my little brother's car has gone to car heaven. She was miraculously fine after the accident, although the shirt she was supposed to wear for family pictures got a big black seat belt mark across the front of it so that was unfortunate. I'm so glad she was okay. It could have been really bad, but she was protected. Plus, she's really attractive, okay?
After my family left, we still had a couple days to spend in Utah so we went to Thanksgiving Point and went to the dinosaur museum and Cornbelly's pumpkin patch. It was really fun for the kids, but I still don't see how they think it's okay to charge $10.95 a person just to get in. Even grumpy pregnant women who know they aren't going to ride any of the rides have to pay. We also drove down to Provo and went to Cafe Rio and the BYU creamery. Lots of memories there- and I decided that I wouldn't mind living in Utah with my family. As a single student at BYU, it was pretty lame, but there are so many things for families to do there. Also, we forgot our camera so as soon as Kimball sends me the pictures he took for us, I'll post them.
When we got home from Utah, we had a surprise birthday/going away party for our AWESOME friends, the Livseys. We have been friends- more like family- for 4 years and the military has ripped them away from us. Hannah has been an amazing friend and I already miss her a lot. Isn't her baby Mia yummy? You should see her smile. And yes- I sure did take a picture of their van driving away from our house...I was (am) sad, okay?
Then it was Adam's birthday. He's 29 now. I am married to a man who is almost 30. It feels kind of gross. I'm too young to be married to an old guy. We had a little family dinner/party to celebrate. He requested a root beer cake so I made his cake and I feel no shame in the fact that I stink at making and decorating cakes. I have tried to do cute stuff but it never works so I think I'll go back to the easy 9x13 pan method.
He's special. But he is seriously my favorite person ever. His hilarity might be the reason my bladder isn't so controllable anymore.
I guess for posterity's sake I should post the obligatory carving the pumpkin pictures. In theory, it's a fun little activity. In reality, it's hard and gross and messy. I love the pumpkin seeds after we season them (we found an awesome recipe!) and cook them.
Adam remembered a project he did as a child, which in itself is a miracle because he can't even remember even BEING any age younger than 16. So he decided to do it with the boys. They thought it was pretty cool and I thought it was pretty cool that I didn't have to do anything to decorate our trunk for the trunk-or-treat except hang their cute skeletons.
Just as a bonus, here is a picture of Bridger after he put my socks and his train conductor hat on.
After we get some hopefully decent pictures of the boys in their costumes tonight, I'll post them. I'm pretty excited to go trick-or-treating with them and then eat all their candy while they sleep.

We're In and I'm Out
We haven't had the internet or a home phone for almost 2 weeks now. I think I've had enough non-technology time. I'm ready to be back in the loop. We are in our new house now, which we love. We are having some wiring problems, hence the no phone and internet. In order for me to write this post, Adam plugged a very long phone cord into the computer and ran it out the window to the outside phone box. It looks really ghetto. Still no home phone, though. We have to wait for the electrician to come (again) and fix stuff.
We have been busy hanging curtains and getting angry at shelves that don't want to hang right. I really forgot all the things (and expenses!) that come with a new house. Hopefully it will be done soon.
The other big news is that I got release as our ward Relief Society president. It was just the right time. It was a challenging two years for me but now I feel like I can have any calling and be totally fine with it. I just feel sorry for the new president. It's a tough place to be.
We haven't taken pictures of anything for a really long time so no photos- sorry, Mom.
We are heading to Utah soon for my brother's wedding and we are really excited to see everyone.
