My amazing friend April came over to take some pictures of Penny. Never mind that she had just had a c-section a week before I had Penny. She's so talented and so sweet. Here are just a few of the pictures she took:
If anyone in the Augusta area is looking for someone to take their family's pictures, April is the girl to call. She's so good with kids and amazing with a camera! Check out her website: aprilmitchell.blogspot.com.

Well son and daughter, I was just shown how to leave a comment. If you are reading this it means it actually worked and I did not throw my computer out the window trying to figure out how to do what should be a simple thing, but for some reason whoever wrote this program feels a sadistic need to make life difficult for folks like me who were not born in the techno age.
Anyway, I love the picture of your daughter who has our blood flowing in her veins. It is a remarkable thing to see this little girl and realize where she just came from, and wonder what her goodbyes were like. I have always wondered if they are as apprehensive about coming here as we are about going back there.
Thank you Jess, and Adam a little too, for taking the time to put up pictures and thoughts on your blog, and then teaching me what a blog is and how to get onto it. It is a marvel! It allows us to keep in touch in some small way and enjoy moments that would otherwise be denied us.
I am proud of the both of you, and grateful for the righteous decisions that have brought you to this point. These are days never to be forgotten, and the memories of these days will warm your souls forever. They will be a source of happiness to you when these little ones are gone off on their own to make more little ones and continue the cycle.
I know you know this, and probably hear it from everyone who is more than 5 years older than you both are, but these days will pass. Love and cherish these little ones. They are gifts from a loving Father in heaven who has entrusted you with the care of 2 of his sons and now a daughter. They are his children. They have just been placed in your care for a short period that you might teach them of Him, and take indescribable joy in the process.
Well, I need to hush. I am certain this is much more than you bargained for when you asked me to learn how to leave comments, but then again you should be expecting it anyway coming from a guy who writes 25 page letters. :)
I love you both. Give Penny the biggest expression of gratitude from me you can for having joined our family. I love her already and am so looking forward to touching her and seeing her smile and feeling her spirit and listening to her delightful "grunts".
Love, pops
Wow, that's one looooong comment Pops but I love it and you! You said everything I wish I could have expressed. I'm bad, you're good! No, you're spectacular! :)
