The Third of Many Posts About Our Trip to Las Vegas: Everyone Gets to Meet Penny!

This was Penny's first trip to Las Vegas (and also her first trip out of the Augusta area). She did great on the plane rides, especially considering the fact that on the way home, we got stuck in Dallas overnight and had 3 flights altogether to get from Vegas to Augusta. She's a trooper. A cute one.

We were excited for everyone to meet her and fall in love with her like we have.

Aunt Laura
This is Kendra, my best friend from high school. She loves babies more than anyone else I know. It was fun to see her with Penny.
Uncle Zach. Don't be alarmed. He hardly ever looks this creepy.Cadence is going to be such a good mommy. Isn't she sweet?
Ummm...I always forget the difference between second cousin and first cousin once removed. I think Amelia is one of those to Penny. Plus my dad and her dad are twins so maybe half aunt?
Grandpa Parry deserves a shout-out for all the times he "babysat" my kids while they were sleeping. Thanks, Daddy.

Also, thanks, Mom for all the babysitting (minus the quotation marks) you did for me. You're am-A-zing!

The Second of Many Posts About Our Trip to Las Vegas: Cousins

Since we live in gross hot Georgia, our kids rarely get to see their cousins. I only have one brother who has kids and his kids are all close in age to my kids. We just like having babies at the same time.

Playing Duck Duck Goose. Check out how happy Jack is. I love it!
We got to meet baby Grayson for the first time and boy is he yummy.Brody and Cadence. I am so glad they love to play together. One of my favorite moments was when I was listening to the 4 big kids play. Cadence was the only girl and the 3 boys were shooting each other and picking out who the bad guys were going to be. Then I heard Cadence: "No! We're playing getting married! I'm the mommy and you're the daddy!" I guess that's the difference between girls and boys.
Bridger was so excited to see Jack. Jack doesn't look AS excited but I'm sure he was.
I loved watching the kids love each other and play together.
How can you not love this face?

The First of Many Posts About Our Trip to Las Vegas: Brody's Plane Ride with Grandpa

Brody got to go for a ride in Grandpa Parry's airplane when we were in Vegas. I had told him that Grandpa had an airplane when we were on the way to Vegas and he couldn't believe it. When Grandpa said he would take him for a ride, he was so excited.
Doesn't he look like a (really young and under-aged) real pilot?
Take Off.
Bridger didn't get to go this time but he got to "pretend". He and Adam stayed behind and watched the airplane fly.

Are You Being Eaten Alive?

I have always been a mosquito magnet. Every summer (especially since we moved to Georgia) I have dreaded the inevitable itching and bumpy legs and arms. The constant scratching because the cortisone cream is either missing or doesn't last long enough. I have always wondered why I seem to get more bites than other people, especially Adam. We can be at the park for the same amount of time and stay the same area the whole time and I will come home with 50 bites and he'll have none.

Last week Adam was at work and a friend of his was being eaten alive and Adam was unscathed. Adam said, "You must have O- blood." His friend couldn't believe he knew that! Adam was just joking- because that's why my blood type is and that I attract the bugs. That got us thinking...do mosquitoes prefer a certain type of blood?

I did a little (and I mean like 5 minutes) of research this morning and it turns out he was right! Type O blood is, for some reason or another, more appealing to mosquitoes. Type A (Adam's type) is the least appealing.

I thought this was really interesting. Oh...you didn't? Weird.

Summer = Swimming!

Today we went to the neighborhood swimming pool for the first time as a family today. It was Penny's first swimming experience so we were pretty excited about it. We couldn't wait to see her squirmy shocked face. We got her in her cute little ruffly swimming suit and loaded all of our floating devices, towels, sunscreen, and our trusty portable baby swing and headed over to the pool.

This is the look that says, "I look goooood."
We were a little disappointed, but also thrilled that Penny LOVED it. No funny faces, no screaming or whimpering. She just enjoyed the refreshing cool water. And the fact that she looked so amazingly adorable probably made it all the more enjoyable for her.

Brody and Bridger were fighting over this *baby* floater the whole time. They need swimming lessons bad. They are both afraid of the water.

After Penny was in the water for about 10 minutes, she was exhausted and passed out.
